Okay ya’ll, hold the phone. I had to get festive with you for just a moment. It’s the first week of October and this year I am feeling extra spooky. Maybe it’s because I just returned from vacation in the Mediterranean and I have to go back to work… OR MAYBE IT’S BECAUSE FALL IS HERE. I mean both are spooky so who really knows?

This Peachy Pumpkin Spice Smoothie Bowl will satisfy all of your pumpkin spice needs MINUS all of the poison ingredients of your typical PSL, ya feel me?

This smoothie has just the right amount of pumpkin to be festive but not too much to where you feel like you are at thanksgiving dinner talking to your uncle Sal. No offence Sal.

This smoothie base is vegan, nut free and gluten free, so anyone with allergies…this bad boy is for you! And I’ve gotta say it is delicious.

If Pumpkin Spice is wrong, I don’t want to be right.
— You, after your first taste of this smoothie bowl.

INGREDIENTS (SMOOTHIE BASE)

Serving Size (1 bowl)

  • 3/4 OF A FROZEN BANANA

  • 1 CUP FROZEN PEACHES

  • 1.5 HEAPING TSP. ORGANIC PUMPKIN PUREE

  • 1/4 TSP. CINNAMON

  • 1/4 TSP. NUTMEG

  • 1 TSP. GROUND VANILLA ( I use Lafaza From Whole Foods Market. If this is to pricey you can substitute vanilla extract or vanilla flavoring. I choose the powder because it is free from alcohol and “natural flavorings”)

  • DASH OF HONEY (This can be optional if you don’t like it sweet ,you can skip it)

  • 1 CUP OAT MILK

INGREDIENTS (TOPPINGS)

This is complete preference, I’ll list what I used and you’re welcome to switch it up with what you’ve got in the house or mix and match your fave toppings.

  • 1/2 AN APPLE (SLICED) I used Mcintosh Red

  • PUMPKIN SEEDS

  • DRIED CRANBERRIES

  • COCONUT FLAKES

  • GRANOLA (The granola I used is a cashew granola so it does have nuts, if you are allergic sub out for your fave granola!)

  • EDIBLE FLOWERS (I bought from a local farm here in Easton because our garden is done for the season, CT check the link if you’re local)

  • CHAI SPRINKLE

*** I ALWAYS USE ORGANIC INGREDIENTS WHEN I CAN.  OF COURSE I UNDERSTAND IF THIS IS NOT FEASIBLE FOR YOUR BUDGET, BUT BUYING ORGANIC WHEN YOU CAN IS ALWAYS PREFERRED FOR HIGH AMOUNTS OF MAGIC.

RECIPE

  1. PUT THE FROZEN FRUIT & PUMPKIN PUREE IN BLENDER

  2. ADD OAT MILK

  3. ADD IN THE REST OF YOUR INGREDIENTS (I DO THIS BECAUSE THE POWDERS CAN SOMETIMES GET STUCK AT THE BOTTOM OR TOP OF THE BLENDER IF THE LIQUID ISN’T PUT IN FIRST…TRADE SECRETS)

  4. BLEND. SHOULD BE THICK. POUR INTO A BOWL AND TOP WITH SUGGESTED TOPPINGS OR ANYTHING YOUR HEART DESIRES. Also option to just drink it without putting it in a bowl for those on-the-go.

  5. ENJOY AS YOU SIT ON YOUR VERANDA IN YOUR FUR BOOTS WHILE WATCHING LEAVES GENTLY FALL OFF THE MAPLE TREES FROM THE LIGHT BREEZE.
